Jan 06 I purchased from the Camera and TV Stop in Medford NJ (great working with them) a Mitsubishi WD-52725 DLP TV + extended warranty, stand and a power supply for $4000.00.
Around March 07, a noticable decline in picture quality, plus digital lines would show on the screen plus a few other issues (bulb burning out). October 08, the TV was found to need "open heart surgery" the chasis (V26) needed a complete rebuild that took 2 months to be completed, plus they replaced the bulb and cleaned it out. It was immediately noticeable that the Picture on this tv had degraded to very low standards and quality. TV repair man stated there was nothing they could do, it's part of the TV's problems.
Over then 2.5 years I replaced the bulbs 3 more times (5x total), Sept 11 the television died again with the Blinking Green Light of Death. Mitsubishi did send a repair person out who did a half repair estimate, even though the TV was out of warranty). It has been 3 weeks yet no fair resolution has been provided, they have not accepted their known failure with this TV.
The TV gets minimal use, and has died 2 times in 6 years, plus had cost me approx. $800 in bulb replacements in this time. It makes no sense for me to spend another $700 on this television in labor costs (Not including parts), when as history with these televisions has shown, they will die again. Mitsubishi, should be embarrassed and should not be trusted as a manufacturer of electronics. From the picture quality to quality of the manufacturing it has been a complete failure.
I would not suggest a Mitsubishi DLP TV (no matter the size of the tv and it's price) to my worst enemy.
