To make the story short... We made an offer to a property listed by an agent works in this office, Ethel Green, recently. Ethel told our agent that our offer was accepted. Our agent asked Ethel for a copy of seller signed offer to confirm the offer was accepted. Ethel was reluctant to do so. Our agent then asked Ethel for an email or text confirmation, which Ethel didn't do either. Then approx. 3 hrs later, Ethel simply sent our agent a text message, stated her call in the morning was by accident, other offer was accepted instead. We find it unbelievable for an agent to make such a mistake. What the real story is, may be only Ethel and God knows. Up till now, Ethel is still hiding in the dark, fully protected by her agency firm, not to mention a personal apologize from her which never happen of course.
We discussed the problem with her boss Mr. Thompson, and of course it doesn't go anywhere. Mr. Thompson claimed that this is just a common "human error", an everyday life accident! We are not convince that is a "human error". Even IF ( I had to say IF....) it was a "human error", it is still totally unacceptable.
He forgot that they are licensed real estate professional; they are trained for your jobs. This was a job related mistake made by licensed professional, not everyday life mistakes. If a licensed doctor made a wrong phone call to a patient, told him to take a wrong medication, then 3 hrs later call and told him that was just a mistake. The patient could be in hospital already because of the mistake. If an air traffic operator made a wrong call to a flight, it could cause the whole plane to crash. In this case, luckily it was not a life threatening mistake, but it had already caused damaged on our behalf. It is an insult to the US real estate industry if this kind of so call "human error" is allowed and accepted as a reasonable mistake. We feel so sorry for INTERO.
I would definitely NOT recommend anyone to use this agency firm and especially Ethel as an agent.
