This company contacted me and informed me they had an A+ rating with BBB, when in fact they did not and they were not actually the company supplying the services that they said they did. I simply wanted information that I was not able to obtain unless I gave them all my information necessary. Throughout the process they incorporated the services of two other companies, one of which was unaware of this practice. They do not send you any information or provide you any information about their company or services without getting vital information from you and then forcing you to sign up for their services because they have all your information. They told me that I could cancel the service within 30 days if I was not happy with it after reading over the papers they had me sign "electronically". I asked them if I could print out the papers to read over and then sign if I was interested and they said I could not. After signing the forms they claim they will send what you just signed to you in a PDF file, which they did not send me. I contacted them and informed them that I did not receive the forms and I really wanted to cancel their promised services because I had made different arrangements. They told me to think about and read over the files and that they would send me the PDF files shortly. I still had not received the forms without several hours and at that point they were not returning my calls or answering my calls. Therefore, I contacted the other two companies that were the companies that would be withdrawing funds from my accounts and found out that one of the companies was unaware of this company all together. The Attorney for MSP ended up calling the manager and having my policy cancelled and informed them that they were not to utilize the services for profit or gain. The attorney then called me and told me that I should not be having any funds removed from account and if I did I was to call him back and there would be some legal hell. The other company, FAA (First American Alliance) was aware of Educational Financial Services and told me they were a referral company, but were not aware that they were charging what they were. They cancelled that end of the policy for me then and there.
When I was initially able to get through to Educational Financial Services to tell them I had not received the PDF file and prior to telling them I wanted to cancel my earlier transactions with them, I told them that they had lied when they said they had an A+ rating on BBB, but in fact had an F rating and that MSP had an A+ rating. The gentleman I spoke with told me that the person that had left the review for them to get an F rating had dementia and gave me some cockamamy story to cover their butts. Any company that refuses to honor a cancellation as promised they would and does not send you the necessary forms immediately after a signing is not an honorary company. I believe they were going to delay the submittal of the PDF files to me for as long as they could and then tell me my cancellation period had expired. However, I went directly to the companies that were being contracted through them and had to cancel that way to cover my butt and ensure the policy was going to be cancelled.
I am posting this to inform any other unknowing customer that falls into this trap that there are options once you realize that Educational Financial Services has misrepresented themselves to you and will not allow you to cancel. You can go directly to Member Services Provider and First American Alliance.
I will tell you that I DO HAVE DEMENTIA and what I am writing here is for your protection should you fall prey to this scheme. You can get the promised services directly through MSP at a much lesser charge than what Educational Financial Services charges you and you do not need to obtain any policy from First American Alliance in order to utilize the services of Member Services Providers.
