I was trying to get my creditors paid off. I applied for a loan to do so,but was turned down. I've tried the debt companies and well now time as past and I don't trust them! I wanted to file bankruptcy and I was told I made to much money last year. Where is someone to turn and trust to get out of this situation?

Hi Ed, Have you tried contacting a Consumer Credit Counseling Service in your area? You can visit their website, chat with them, or give them a call here: http://www.cccsatl.org/

Like most industries, it can be trying just to locate a company in the financial industry that is reputable and ethical. I want to tell you about a honest ethical Credit Counseling Service. They are a cost effective way to 1. Get out of debt 2. Improve your credit history 3. Negotiate with creditors in your behalf to eliminate finance charges, late fees and such. 4. Help you to pay off the debt cost effectively in one monthly payment. Best of all, it is sponsored by the YWCA. It is worth checking into and not every state has access to this wonderful program. On a personal note, I have had to use their services in the past and they are reputable. You are not alone in having financial problems in this recession. Besides individual finances are like a roller coaster ride in that there will be rises and falls. You will pull through. I survived my financial problems using their services before. If things dont improve, I may have to resort to using them again. I hope this is encouraging to you. Now here is the info: Go to the following link: http://www.ywca.org/site/pp.asp?c=fuLRI6OZH&b=66472 The YWCA is not just for women, it is for everyone and even families. Look down the column for Consumer Credit Counseling Service. If you are not in that location, you will need to call them to find out where to download their forms. There is a small membership fee of $25.00 that you will need to enclose with your forms. Then a counselor will contact you to discuss your situation at length and the best options for you. They are terrific and best of all honest! You can also see if there is a Consumer Credit Counseling service in your city or near you at: http://www.ywca.org/siteapps/custom/ywca/local.aspx?c=djISI6PIKpG&b=281414 I hope this helps you. I understand the stress of this economy both from a business and individual stand point. Sincerely, Katherine Beth
